Like most women, Allison Friedland hadn't really given much thought to the state of baby's clothing until she became a mother herself. Sure, she'd noticed
that most babies wore the same cutesy garb, but had chalked it up to personal taste. It wasn't until September 2004 when her spunky daughter Samantha came into her life that
Allison realized how few fashion options existed for babies. As she mingled with the other moms at the jungle gym, her fashion concerns were echoed. The
mothers appreciated their children's quirks, but couldn't seem to find clothing capable of reflecting their children's unique personalities.
In December 2007, Samantha was joined by her baby brother Jacob who immediately showed his distinct personality as well.
So, on behalf of all the speechless babies subjected to the humiliation of having to wear clothes that clearly contradicted their personalities, Allison
put her MBA and marketing background to good use and created Uncommonly Cute. To the delight of their maternal counterparts, babies can now transcend the
department store notion of what a baby ought to look like. With her "no trucks, ducks or puppies allowed" rule, Allison is making sure that our little
individual people have little individual clothes.
Uncommonly Cute's t-shirts and onesies not only afford babies a sense of individual style-be they a Diva, a Rock Star or a Fashionista-but comfort as well.
Each garment is made of 100% combed cotton and is super, super soft. Sure to delight the babies' no-fuss, socially conscious moms, the clothes are all
machine washable, safe, durable and made in sweatshop-free American studios.
Uncommonly Cute supports Room to Grow and R Baby Foundation
by donating a portion of their profits as well as merchandise to those cuties in need.
With Sammy and Jacob as her inspiration and her husband (and not-so-silent partner) Ben's incredible support, Allison is quite happy to be shaking things up in baby
apparel, replacing conformity with individuality; cute with uncommonly cute.
